Steel factory inspection FAQ

Straight answers to the questions buyers ask before commissioning work. Every answer below is also visible without JavaScript and mirrored in the page's structured data.

Getting started

What do you need from me to quote an inspection?

The product and specification, the supplier company name and city, your rough order size, and the destination port. A quotation or business licence from the supplier speeds things up. With that we can confirm coverage, scope and a fixed fee.

Do I need an account or a form?

No. We do not run a portal, a sign-up or a form that captures your data. You contact us on Telegram or by email and we reply directly.

How quickly do you reply?

Typically within one business day, China time (UTC+8). We work to Gulf, North African and East African hours as far as practical.

Scope and coverage

Which factories can you visit?

Tangshan and the surrounding Hebei steel belt: Qian'an, Fengnan, Fengrun and Lubei, plus nearby Tianjin and Cangzhou. For other cities we will confirm coverage and cost, or decline.

Do you inspect trading companies?

Yes. Many suppliers are traders presenting a mill's yard as their own. We check the licence, address, staff, stock and whether production actually happens there, then tell you which of the three you are dealing with: a mill, a processing plant, or a trading office.

Do you inspect more than one site in one trip?

Yes, and it is usually the best value. Two candidate plants in the Tangshan area can often be covered in one day, with one comparative report and one fee.

The report

What is in the written report?

Company profile, ownership and site description, equipment and capacity observed, product scope seen on site, photographs, findings and risk notes, and the questions we recommend you ask next. Typically eight to fifteen pages depending on scope.

Is the report a certificate?

No. It is a dated record of what we observed and verified. It is commercial due diligence, not a certification, accreditation, test report or quality guarantee.

Can I share the report with my bank or my customer?

Yes, that is what it is written for. It is produced in English and structured so that someone who was not on the call can read it without explanation.

Can the report be confidential?

Yes. We can visit without naming you, keep recordings unpublished and restrict the report to your company.

Pricing and payment

How much does an inspection cost?

A fixed fee quoted after the scope is confirmed. It depends on travel distance, number of sites, time allowed on site and whether you need video, document verification or both. No fee is charged until you approve the scope.

Do you take commission from factories?

No. Inspection work is paid by the buyer. We will tell you if we have any prior relationship with a company we are asked to review.

Do you handle payment for the goods?

No. We are not a party to your purchase contract and we do not hold or transfer payment. Contract terms, letters of credit and escrow remain between you, your bank and the supplier.

Quality and testing

Do you guarantee product quality?

No. A site visit cannot guarantee the quality of a future production run. For significant orders we recommend an independent pre-shipment inspection and laboratory testing by a third party such as SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or TUV.

Can you arrange a third-party inspection?

Yes. We can book and attend a pre-shipment inspection with an independent body and make sure you receive the report. Their fee is separate from ours and is quoted by them.

Do you test coating mass in a laboratory?

No. We are not a laboratory. Coating mass is verified by a third-party test to the relevant standard.
