SteelDesk Tangshan · China

Terms of service

The scope, limits and commercial basis of the inspection and sourcing support we provide. Read this before you commission work.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

1. Who we are and what we provide

SteelDesk Tangshan provides buyer-side commercial due-diligence services in relation to steel suppliers in Tangshan and the surrounding Hebei steel belt, China. These services include on-site factory visits, recorded remote walkthroughs, document checks, written English reports, supplier shortlisting, specification translation, quotation comparison, sample coordination and follow-up of third-party inspection and loading.

We are not a manufacturer, a trading company, an inspection body, a certification body, a law firm or a financial institution.

2. Nature of the service

Our work is commercial due diligence carried out at the client's request. A report records conditions observed at the time of a visit and information made available by a supplier on that date.

A report is not a certificate, an accreditation, an approval, a test report, a conformity assessment or a guarantee of quality, and it creates no obligation on future production, delivery or contractual performance by any supplier.

3. Client responsibilities

  • Provide accurate supplier details, specification and any access requirements before the visit.
  • Approve the written scope and the fee before travel is arranged.
  • Make commercial decisions on your own assessment; the report is an input, not a decision.
  • Comply with the laws and import requirements of your own jurisdiction.

4. Access and recording

Factory access and permission to film are matters for the factory, not for us. Where recording is refused or restricted, we will tell you before travelling or as soon as it becomes apparent, and we will agree an alternative or cancel the assignment. We do not enter premises unlawfully or against the express instruction of the site operator.

5. Fees and payment

Fees are quoted in writing and fixed for an agreed scope. No fee is charged before the client approves the scope. Variations that change the scope (additional sites, additional days, additional documentation) are quoted separately before being carried out.

Third-party inspection, laboratory testing and shipping costs are not included in our fee. Those are billed by the relevant provider and are the client's responsibility.

6. Independence and conflicts

We are engaged and paid by the buyer. We do not accept supplier commissions for inspection work. If we have a prior relationship with a company we are asked to review, we disclose it before accepting the assignment.

7. No payment handling

We do not hold, transfer, escrow or guarantee payment for goods, and we are not a party to any sale contract between the client and a supplier. Contract terms, letters of credit, insurance and customs arrangements are solely between the client and the relevant parties.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of or in connection with an assignment is limited to the fee paid for that assignment. We are not liable for commercial loss, loss of profit, delay, or consequential loss arising from a client's decision to trade with a supplier, nor for the acts or omissions of suppliers, inspection bodies, carriers or forwarders.

9. Third-party inspection and testing

Where we coordinate an independent inspection or test, the report and its conclusions are issued by that body and remain theirs. We can arrange and attend, but we do not control, influence or warrant their findings.

10. Confidentiality

We treat client information and project material as confidential, do not publish client or factory identities from live commissions, and will sign a reasonable non-disclosure agreement where one is required before work begins.

11. Website content

Product descriptions, typical parameters and timing indications on this site are general information for international buyers. They are not a specification, an offer, or a statement that any particular supplier meets any particular standard.

12. Governing terms

Specific engagements are governed by the written scope, quotation and any signed agreement for that engagement. Where those documents conflict with this page, the engagement documents prevail. This page describes our standard position and is not itself a contract.
